Most Americans are blissfully unaware of the custom maxi-scooter scene in Japan. Custom bodywork and chrome, hydraulic suspension, custom seats and garish paint schemes, LEDs and performance upgrades – Japanese scooterists have little fear of standing out! Intrigued by the Japanese custom scooter culture, I’ve been compiling a stack of photos of these for my own inspiration. As these pics are to serve as inspiration for my own custom Majesty project, they are a little Yamaha Majesty-heavy (naturally), with a good sprinkling of the Maxam (sold in the U.S. as the “Morphous”) and an occasional Fusion (sold here as the “Helix”), these are some great pics of some truly beautiful (if not subtle) machines.

There aren’t a great deal of places where we as Americans can get access to some of the slick parts that these cosmic sleds are frequently fitted with, though I have located a few places online. If you know of more be sure to drop me a line!
